Vaping harms erections via blood-vessel physiology

Erections depend on nitric-oxide–driven vessel dilation and blood trapping; nicotine and e-cigarette exposure can impair dilation and nitric-oxide availability, reducing erectile performance without proving permanent anatomical shrinkage.

Nicotine can blunt erections even young and healthy

A randomized placebo-controlled study found isolated nicotine produced about a 23% reduction in physiologic erectile response; this supports nicotine as a direct mechanism even when vaping hasn’t been present long.

ED in younger men isn’t automatically anxiety

Because vaping and nicotine can impair vascular function, new erectile problems at 25–30 shouldn’t be dismissed as performance anxiety; clinicians should also consider cardiometabolic factors and screen causes rather than defaulting to ED meds.
